ABOUT US:

My name is Mindy Anderson and I decided to form “Aunty Min’s” in 2002 while I was working at an animal hospital and noticed the need for additional pet-care in Kitsap County.  I also discovered that many people preferred in-home petcare to kennels – just like my husband, Robert, & me.

My husband and I have been animal lovers all our lives.  We are fortunate to share our home with two beautiful rescue cats and three dachshunds (who really run the house).  Robert is employed by PSNS and can also provide back-up for “Aunty Min’s”.  And, whenever possible, the wiener dogs like to help out and play with other dogs, too. :)

I am very involved with our local non-profit organizations and have volunteered for the Kitsap Humane Society, West Sound Wildlife Shelter and PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap for years.  I have worked with the animals directly and regularly take part in events to support these wonderful organizations.  In 2009, I joined the Board of Directors of PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap and am currently serving as Vice President of the BOD.

I have also been fortunate enough to have working relationships with a couple of local dog trainers and belong to the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).  Learning about training and behavior has really been an eye-opener for me personally and I like to share my knowledge with my clients as well as continue my education. Before starting my own business, I worked in promotions, entertainment & law.

Jordan
Jordan Taylor joined us in 2007.  Jordan has been a natural born dog trainer since she was a child and has also worked as a professional pet sitter.  She also has her own company, Reel Dogs, where she trains dogs for film, TV, and other media work.  Our very own Comet & Teddybear have both been featured in Target ads! Jordan is also a talented writer – her book “Wonder Dogs: 101 German Shepard Dog Films” is available on amazon.com. We are very lucky to have her be a part of the "pack"!

Lindsey
Lindsey Craig also joined the "pack" in 2007.  Lindsey has lived on Bainbridge for many years and has volunteered locally at the West Sound Wildlife Shelter and Furrytale Farm.  Her dog, Kip, enjoys going for walks with other dogs as well.  Kip is great at keeping everyone calm and steady.  In addition to working with animals, Lindsey also writes children's books - her first book “Dancing Feet!” (Random House) is in stores now.

Carlee
Carlee Ashen joined us in 2009.  Carlee was raised on Bainbridge Island and has enjoyed the company of a wide range of animals throughout her life.  She has extensive experience with horses as well as dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, and all kinds of barnyard animals. Carlee's wide range of experience includes a Pacific Ocean crossing aboard a sailboat with the company of two dogs and a cat!  She has also worked at Furrytale Farm and as a Hiking Guide in Alaska and enjoys long walks in all kinds of weather.  Her love of animals and the outdoors make her a great asset to our "pack"! Carlee is currently on maternity leave.

Nicole
We started off 2010 strong with Nicole Corbo joining the “pack”! Nicole's long time love for animals is no doubt because of her mom's penchant for taking in strays. Her family had no less than one extra pet at any given time! Nicole has experience working in a vet's office and has also volunteered at an animal shelter. While working as a river guide, she became the go-to person for all her friends with dogs; if she was not working, she was pet sitting. More recently, Nicole advocated for animals in the wild, as the Director of the Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project. But her favorite furry friends are her two twelve year old cats, Nisa and Sabine, who live with her on Bainbridge Island.
Christy Christy Carr also joined the "pack" in 2010.  In addition to pet sitting, Christy works part-time as a wetland biologist and planning consultant having whacked her way through island ecosystems since 2000.  Christy is enjoying caring for pets and introducing dog friends to trails they may not have seen before.  She is an avid cyclist and also volunteers with local non-profit organizations including Friends of the Farms and Bainbridge Island Land Trust and has recently become a chicken farmer.  Christy is happy to care for animals of any sort – whether they be around the house or out on the farm.

Services include:  daily dog walks, “cat walks”, fresh food/water, playtime, basic training reinforcement, administering medication, cleaning litter, light grooming, watering plants, bringing in mail/newspaper, rotating lights and more.  Additional services include taking your pet to the groomer or vet, picking up pet supplies and park play dates.

The average visit is $20.00 for 30 minutes and we provide pet sitting on Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo (limited area).  "Aunty Min's" is a member of Pet Sitters International, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Bainbridge Island Chamber of commerce.  “Aunty Min’s” is licensed, bonded and insured.

"No doubt, Mindy LOVES animals. She has cared for our dog Wylie and bunny Snowy numerous times. She takes tremendous care of them, is extremely responsible and pays very close attention to their health, physical and emotional needs. Mindy is someone who has found her true calling and LOVES her work." Lori
